maybe trying to get people to buy phones in the store is a shitty job, but im sure there are plenty of jobs in upper management that pay well and carry good benefits, beating up customers probably eliminates those options though

True but who cares, Cell phone's are a thing of the past.

The rotary is what's in!

LOL ARE you serious? That's probably the stupidest thing someone ever said on this board. You look like Forest Gump even when compared to 4ROTORROCKET. I love stupid people though, makes my life easier and brings me more money! Keep on trying to fit in by riding other peoples styles though slinky.

actually, thats probably half true.

the differences between cingular and mcdonalds: cingular has better pay, it's not food, and the cell phone business is much cleaner

the similarities: both offer benefits, have shitty customer service, employees at both places have an IQ less than or equal to a 10 year old, employees don't give a **** about their job at either place, nor excersize self control over their actions, there are almost as many cingular kiosks and stores as there are mcdonalds

anyone can get hired at cingular or sprint or t-mobile.. ANYONE.. verizon isn't to much better, but at least the people at verizon act and look more professional, and i believe it's a little harder of a company to get into.

But that's the point that he was riding on when comparing McD's to any Cell phone company, I think... It's a very easy, "first job" type of situation. I will agree there is more growth available to a Cell phone provider type job than McDonalds though...depends how serious you are and how good you are I would assume.

Rotary telephones are the future!!!!!!!!!!!!!ONE!!11!!!

Boxers,

I fear you are gravely mistaken. All our employees are union at CWA, im sure you've heard of the communication workers of america? You try to get a job at cingular in your area, it's not the easiest thing to do. We haven't been hiring in any store in our market for the past 6 months because all the spots are filled. At cingular, we have to go through a month of training at the main facility as well as in the store. The pay is greatly better with me being at 10.80 an hour + commission, which equates to about 2200 a month before taxes part time if you hit quota.

Everyone in Cingular that I've ever met has always either worn a suit or a dress shirt in tie so I don't quite know what you mean by not looking professional but whatever. If you think verizon customer service is any better than cingular, then I don't know what to tell you other than good luck in the future.

Oh I forgot to mention the free cell service and all the extra bonuses like cingular rewards points and such.

No they can't (at least here in NY). I worked at a McDonalds for two days (yes, two days...) and they told me I get Half off everything I buy, but nothing was free.

In my previous post I did in fact say that Cingular employees got paid more. I never said anything about the pay being the same. But you have to admit, there are a LOT of similarities.

Never heard of the CWA, but I know plenty of people who have gotten jobs at Cingular throughout high school and college. As for dress, I've only seen Cingular workers wear khakis and a collar shirt. There's a kiosk in our mall and they look like some of the most immature ****** I've ever seen (hanging over the counter, gawking at girls, and the girls who work there sit on the phone all the time), and were never really helpful when I had a problem. They would just refer me to someone else.

As far as customer service I had cingular for 2 years, and the bills were almost always wrong for the first 6 months. On top of that, the schmuck signed me up for a plan that was more than double what I agreed to... It took 2 months to correct that. When it came to taking care of any problem, it took forever.

I've had Verizon now for 4 years and never have had a problem. Even when replacing a phone, Verizon just gives me a new one, don't really ask questions. Cingular ranted and raved when my I had problems with my service.. It was a never ending battle because: I was in a 2 year contract.

I have friends who have had Cingular for several years and love it. Maybe the service is better than it was, but I don't plan on going back. Not trying to turn this into a bash Cingular thread because i'm sure some people love it..

Back to Eric beatin the Indian...

Bro you have to remember, Im a Cingular company employee. There is TONS TONS of reseller stores in the mall that work for a private company like Princeton Wireless that just buys cingulars name and phones to sell in their own business. I know what kids your talking about, we have them in my mall as well, but none of them are a Cingular company employee so you have to understand who the person works for. Also, those people arn't union either, they are scum kids that try to act cool and work for someone else
