Crappy News For The Week

your friend is going to be gone a little longer than a year right now gurard and reserve units have a min. in country deployment time of 1 year...now before they get to Iraq they will go to an active duty componant to be trained up on what they can expect to happen over there such as prisnor taking and care, guard duty combat skills etc..that can last 3 months.

My best friend got the call in Sept. He's been in Georgia and Fort Bragg training for the past months. He's managed to get a few weekends off since he's been gone. But this weekend is there last weekend home. His unit will be leaving next week to Iraq for at least a year. It sucks but he'll be back.

yup hes been gone the last 3 months training, he has an 18 month term to serve and that means 15 months in iraq..haha i almost got to take care of his low 11 second fd while he was gone, but he left it with rich at gotham racing so they can put on new wheels, have it painted and going from Bnr non seq. twins to gothams big ct26 single turbo...like he needs more power

i leave may 5th if not earlier (i asked recruiter to look up move up dates) to ship to basic....from there i go to airborne school, ranger school, and then hopefully if i make it past those two and more other small schools in between, special forces training path
its all in the contract but up to me to pass them all

my stepdad just left a few days ago for iraq.
*shrug* im gonna be travelling western europe in may, and south america in november. Had i joined the military 2 years ago when i wanted to, i wouldnt be able to do these 2 trips. I find traveling on your own accord is better than having uncle sam tell you when and where.
not my cup of tea.
