If you want to stick with anime, Vampire Hunter D is pretty bad *** if you get the un-cut version.

If you don't just want to stick to movies, try:

Trigun

Tenchi (all of it, and it's bloody good)

Blood - The last Vampire

Cowboy Bebop (the series)

Rorouni Kenshin

And more...

I dunno about blood... you really need to read the novels to get the movie. If you just watch the movie without the background you might be a bit dissappointed.

As for stuff like Cowboy Bebop... try:

The Ghost in the Shell (the Movie and Stand Alone Complex [TV series])

Read or Die

Naruto

Neon Genesis Evangelion (Be prepared to have your mind warped though)

Nausica

Noir

If you're down with anime and just want something light hearted, try

Azumanga Daioh

Porcco Rosso

Love Hina

Chobits

I know, I'm a geek.

That whole Animatrix DVD kicks ***. I had downloaded the 4 you can get from free from their website, so I had to buy the DVD when it came out. I think the last part gives a hint as to how they are going to beat the machines
