Court Is Fun!

So I went to the county courthouse to take care of my expired plates ticket. Within 20 minutes I had plead guilty, paid my fine and left. Here's the cool part - It's an $85 ticket that was dropped to $58 including court costs. The ticket itself (minus fees) was reduced to $35. I think the system got jewed. So it's 10AM and I have the whole day to myself, I think I'm gonna mow the lawn, then work on my tan. Yesssssss!

my experience wasn't as good as yours, i rearended someone because they stopped short for a city bus, and i was checking my blind spot to get away from the bus then i rearended them. well i went to court waited till 2pm to find out that the cop never showed and the ticket was throuwn out, and theoretically my accident doesn't exist. well i guess it getting it thrown out is better. moral of the story FIGHT everyticket

No kidding, court is just an annoying way to inconvenience someone out of thier money. I wish I could just pay a cop at the time of the ticket, be done with it, and not get thrown in the pokey for bribery.

In Oregon you can, if an investigation turns up evidence that someone was acting a fool, they certainly will issue a ticket. Small fender benders rarely have a citation involved, it's the larger accidents, time consuming, traffic stopping, that officers will persue issuing a citation.
