I was reading up on Honda's website about the Insight and Civic Hybrid. In the FAQ's for the Civic, I giggled when I read:

i cant remeber if it was a prius or hybrid civic (i'm leaning towards the prius though), i'll find the magazine i read it in.

You can get way more punch out of the insight if you modified the electric part of the car. Some power packs, bigger motor. Run 9's mang!

He sho aint bullshittin, we **** with the FET's on X-Mods and wrap our own motors and get them running 30-35mph on AA batteries I could only imagine what you could do to a Hybrid with some electtrical upgrades...
