I think we've changed our minds on this years trip, anyone been to costa rica? they have great healthcare and low cost of living, seeing as we are looking at buying some land would be best to kill two birds with one stone!

banzaitoyota 02-17-2006 05:36 AM

Nonsense! It pays to think outside the box.

banzaitoyota 02-17-2006 07:51 AM

Oh! Excuse me. I thought you were commenting on the tax consequences of running a hitman-for-hire business in Costa Rica.

banzaitoyota 02-17-2006 08:11 AM

So, back to the HITMAN scheme, what is the weapon of choice?

jose13b 02-17-2006 08:48 AM

got some female pics from there???????

yayer 02-17-2006 09:09 AM

I visited Costa Rica about two years ago and I have to say it is still my favorite trip, and I've been to some pretty cool places from Australia to Turkey and Scotland to India. We stayed by Puntarenas/Jaco at a resort that's apparently not there anymore (per a quick google search). We spent majority of our time there on the mid-pacific coast, but there was plenty to enjoy. We did drive from the airport in San Jose out to the resort, which was kind of an adventure and a cool chance to check out the countryside. From what I saw the whole country is diverse with stuff you just don't experience state-side. The people are cool, the economy there is stable (relative to a lot of the rest of central/south america) and the accomodations are comfortable.

First and last impressions: the place is just beautiful, you just feel good when you're there. I want to encourage you, if you're already looking for property you will want a piece there. You will love it.

phinsup 02-17-2006 09:53 AM

thanks yayer, i was looking at the carribean side, it seems to have less tourists, did u get a chance to go there? I was planning on driving from san jose as well, airfare is nice anc cheap into san jose https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

A banana, of course! Chambered for .45 ACP. You could carry it in plain view, and nobody would give it a second glance.

phinsup 02-17-2006 10:47 AM

well here ya go, costa rica has the third longest life expectancy behind only belgium and japan. It has world class healthcare and one of the leading nations in resource conservation and has one of the best education systems in the world. the majority of cr citizens are land owners and they are one of the most technooligically advanced nations in south america, only 2 skirmishes mark costa rica's peaceful history.

Prostitution and gambling are legal, pot is decriminalized, they have both pacific and carribean beaches., population is over 4 million they are a democratic nation.

$50,000 business investement or $1,000 a month from other investments or a deposit of $60,000 in a cr bank or $200,000 worth of land investment.

you can get land cheap in the dominican republic, and land value there i think is getting ready to go up so its a good investment. just dont get on the governments badside, when i was there they bulldozed the #1 taxi company's fleet of taxis because they conducted an illegal protest https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
