I live in Tallahassee, FL, and I don't know if this news got very far, but there was a cop killed here. Evidently, this hasn't happened since sometime in the 80's (so I've been told). I watched the funeral procession through town of all the law enforcement vehicles, and it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. There were over a thousand vehicles from all over the state, and some from Georgia, including US marshalls, agriculture, dot, fish and wildlife, like everything with law enforcement had at least one vehicle representing. When the first car arrived at the destination, the last hadn't even left the start point yet, I think about 7 or 8 miles away. It really moved me, just thought I'd share.

Really? That seems strange I know it happened here just recently. They didn't do all that for the funeral though.

Yeah, I hear he was wearing a bullet-proof vest, got shot several times, the last of which was in the back of the head. He still managed to call dispatch and give a description of the suspect and vehicle.

We still got that small-town attitude, so it's like a huge deal here. Yeah, he had family. My brother is in classes with one of the guys daughters. She'll probably end up failing all her classes, seeing as how it's an intense course where you can't miss much. That guy who killed the cop is seriously screwed.
