The dealer only gets 300 a year so they can only sell so many of them.

Resale is great

on them as well.
on route 17 by us ther'es a specific bmw mini dealer, his lot is full of every color and options arrangements you can think of. IIRC they also had one fully decked out with body kit, rally driving lights, the works.

as for their resale... how do you know the resale is good if they've only bene out like a year?

not many cars under $20,000 that when they are a year old are worth more

then $14000 or so.

Yeah, normally when you drive a new car off the show room floor the price drops big time, wether its a year old or not. Course any of the classic mini's that went for 3k thirty years ago are being sold for 15-20k today, granted they are in excellent shape.

i adjusted the tr3's purchase price ($2650 in 58) for inflation and it would have been a $16,000 car now

I dont think the whole watching your mini get built is real, I cant see it taking them more then a day to build one.
hehe...I went to a Volvo truck plant and they build over 100 semi trucks a day

Congrats on the purchase...hope it turns out to be a great car

they said 8 weeks ( read the first post ), had 2 lease payments left on the Mitsui,

so they waited 2 weeks and order the mini, so about 7 weeks to go!

changed it to a red with red roof, I can always change the color

of the roof and mirrors at will anyhow.
