I love the united states, I really do. I love giant corporations, I love huge stores that are larger than most towns of the world, I loe the over sized food we eat, I love it all ... but damn it if I dont think things like this are going to haunt this country for the next 100 years or more. The US will fail eventually ... we will eventually die off into something else. booooooo..... booo america and americans that own everything on borrowed money.

from my dad:

Here's something thought provoking -

The next time you hear a politician use the word "billion" in a casual

manner, think about whether you want the "politicians" spending your

tax money.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising

agency did a good job of putting that figure into some perspective in

one of its releases.

a.. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

b.. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

c.. A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

d.. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

e.. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the

rate our government is spending it.

Not the debt, the deficit.

he eliminated the deficet and made the largest payments in history towards the debt.

During the regan bush administration the national debt increased by it's largest proportion ever (vs gdp) which can be argued as being due to inflation rather then spending, but then you would have to also understand why the drastic inflation occurred uhhhhhhh can u say raganomics?

Clintons plan had us out of debt by 2010, the problem we face now is that we have minimal exports, overwhelming imports and a declining dollar. The more money we owe foreign nations and the less valuable our dollar becomes the quicker our debt will rise EVEN if we were to eliminate the current spending spree.

We're an 18 year old with our first credit card and when the cc company gives us an increase we get all excited and spend it as fast as we can.

Too bad the world doesn't use the gold system anymore... Need money? Go mine for more gold or steal another country's gold.
