DHCP and WINS not working?



Make sure you have a static IP address.

I have AT&T broadband cable and they use dynamic IP

Can't use DHCP or WINS with a dynamic IP address.



Well technically you can use WINS but the thought of doing it makes my head hurt.

I have one hooked up and ready to go.

actually I can't get the printer to work either through the router

atleast my internet is working through the router



this is driving me nuts

It's a HP Laserjet 5M printer. Instead of using the LPT1 port, I will use the cable to router. I had it working before with a regular hub

it shouldn't matter. the only thing that might have happened is the ip address changed

ok, got the printer to work



everything is working cherry, but the Pavilion Computer. Looks like the drivers are not being recognized by Win NT

I'm thinking to dual boot -_-
