Computer Question
Everytime I go to open a Internet Explorer window it says Dectecting Proxy Setting at the bottom and it takes forever to open and go to my homepage.
How can I fix this to where it doesn't take so long or doesn't do it at all.
I'm running windows XP with cable internet
Thanks
Shay

ok.. that option is in the internet explorer options.. in the menu under tools > internet options..
open that up and click on the top tab that says connections..
then at the bottom there will be a button that says lan settings.. Click that.. a new window will appear and at the top a box should be checked in next to where it says "automatically detect settings" you should uncheck that box.. and then press ok.. and ok and this should fix your problem..
