Hey im haveing some major issues. Info: im running windows XP, i've done online virus scans(nothing) Here are some of the symtoms...



I cant use any any admin options. It looks like im in some safe mode..it dosnt say safe mode anywhere, but when I open up the "start" menu there is no picture icon at the top..evrything is grey insted of blue. When I try to intall anything it says im in some sort of safe mode.



I cant see any of my devices, when I open up Device Manager.. nothing is there. My speakers dont work, my disk drive won't recongnise blank CD's.



I cant do a system restore.. there are no retore points.



I have more than one account on my computer..and if i try useing the first account it wont open anything up. wont open Internet explorer, My Computer, nothing..



When I reboot CHKDSK pops up and starts saying **** about corupded files.. and starts fixing ****.



I dont have a restore disk.. forgot to grab it when I came over here. I can re-load XP, but I have no way of saveing my files..(cant burn them) so that is a very last ditch effort.. if anyone knows what might be wrong.. I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Restart that ****, LOL!!!

 

Sounds like you are running is Safe Mode, press F8 on the boot, see if it gives you the option to boot to last known working config.

 

I've restarted about 15 times.. every time I have to wait about an hour for the CHKDSK to tell me how many fucked up files that Ive never seen before are bad.. and attemt to fix it. And it obviously failing at that.



anyone have about 4G of space I can upload some important files to? lol

Did you try the F8? See if you have the option to boot to something other then safemode.



Otherwise get yourself a second hard drive, stick that in there and copy over your important files.

 

I hate Microsoft, this is the kind of thing that could force a man (ME) to develope his own operating system. LOL
