Are aftermarket manufacturers liable for failures of aftermarket safety restraint systems? Take M2 for example: they sell a strut tower brace / harness bar for the FD. If the bar fails in an accident, can they be held accountable for the failure? Does it matter if the accident is on the street or track?

well on the track you are on your own, but on the street unless they have something to the contrary they might be (hypothetically). i dont know what the rules are about that kind of thing here. in eurpoe they do actually certify some parts to make sure they dont have a detrimental effect
