college advisors
#1
I've been toying with the idea of taking online classes for a few months. I ended up signing up for the U of Phoenix and was called by a college advisor shortly after for a phone interview to see what i was interested in, ect.... Well it was a lady, sounded nice and helpful and all those good things. After talking for awhile and giving her my work history and interest she really started to light up on the phone and insist I come down to meet her in person to talk things over. I did and got the ball rolling to start classes back in December, which I never did because of the holidays and then I pushed it back again while I wait to see if I get a government job. Anyways, in the meantime over the past few months the nice advisor lady stays in touch with me. She sends emails and calls frequently. One thing that I noticed from the beggining of our conversations was that she didn't always talk just about school. She liked to talk about life in general and seemed to be really into me flying for some reason. Wished me a merry xmas, always asking where I'm flying and what I'm doing at work, gives compliments left and right, and was all kinds of excited when I told her about my potential job offering. She ends up calling the other day to check up again and asked how my new year was and informed me she broke up with her boyfriend. Cool. Goes on to ask how old I was and tells me she's 45 and looking to get into some kind of relationship again. Awkward student/advisor moment on the phone was had by all.
