Well yesterday I got sick of being a stock GT...

So I ran out got a Mac Cold air fenderwell setup.

We got installed while I was at work. Nice difference. She has a bit more topend which she needed. Next up Electric cooling fan underdrive pullies valve cover gasket and exhaust. All of this was started. Because my buddy with the SI civic said "By July I will be kicking your ***" Well it aint going to be that easy! I am hoping to get the underdrives in a week and the valve cover fixed also. Remember right now I am beating him with a blown valve cover gasket and a check engine light on. The cold air did add power and you can feel it. My 2nd gear scratch seems about 1-2 longer now. It was just a chirp now she does scratch. Right now off the line he usually pulls because I spin some but by 60 I have about 2 car lengths on him. Or we can put it this way. If I am at 50 and he flies by me doing 80 I can catch up within about 1/4 mile. Remember I am giving up 30mph. But even he commented on how much I begin gaining on him once he hits 100 when he does passes like that. Usually because I have already hit the brakes and declared a win and then I just go back for a 2nd

I will have to get some pics of her with the new cold air. Man it looks so much better! And the sound that comes on at 3500rpm's oh man it is just so much better. She now feels a lot more responsive in the upper end which is what she needed. Should of seen how restrictive the stock crap was! It did not even attempt to flow!

You may be the last person on earth to have a stock stang. Get with the program! Equal length headers, H-pipe, flowmasters or Hooker Aero chambers, a rear end ratio change, either 3.55 or 3.73 will make your car feel like you put a big block in it. 70mm throttle body, the list is endless for your car. 160 degree thermostat ( be sure to seat the thermostat correctly being as how it sits on its side on those motors ) etc.... With $1000 and a weekend, you can be opening some cans of whoop ***. By the way, when you do your valve cover gasket, be sure to take the opportunity to clean all the carbon build up from your throttle body, and your upper and lower intake manifold, im sure its caked on. Clean your egr valve as well, thats usually clogged with carbon on those cars. God I miss a 302.

Actually exhaust wise and other add ons here is the way I want to do it.

BBK long tube headers

BBK on road shorty H pipe

3.73 gearing

Electric cooling fan

Dynomax Ultra Flo Mufflers

Probably dump the exhaust because it is a GT body...

May clean up the motor's insides just getting all the carbon out. But not doing any big bolt ons to it. Think I may just save for a new motor. That way when I buy an RX I can put a 302 into it! lol j/k guys.

I am hoping thats enough to make him think 2x before messign with me. It will take him more mods to catch back up and then you have intial cost. He is paying 10,2xx for his car I paid 2200. His insurance is 240 but car payment is 270. My insurance is 250 but my car payment is 200. Now we both make the exact same amount of money. But I also work for a Ford dealership which helps me out. He works for a Nissan dealership which hurts him. But needless to say I am determined to win this one.....

I am doing this all out of pocket. He does have his parents to help though. I dont know how much they will though.

BUt I bought this car about 6 months ago now and she has had to have had a few repairs nothing expensive. Just time consuming. So time to get with it and go kick some ***!

had considered a cam...

plus I just found out in the great state of MO you can go get a PO box and use that as your mailing address in a different county. Because only the bigger cities in mo have emissions! Since I am in st.louis county I have to. But if I was to license my car in a smaller town... no cats no smog pump or anything!!! AND IT WOULD BE LEGAL!!!!!

The 302 in the RX was a joke. When I get an RX I want to keep it light. A V8 is not a good way of doing that unless it is an all aluminum small V8 like the 3.4 in the SHO....

But otherwise rotary power!! in The REX at least...

Never in my stang... to many buddies would kill me....

But I would not mind beating a few of them whenever I get that FD.....
