Good call there...I'm sure they'd let the same kid do the engine swap. The stupid things people say...
You know, I almost ended this post with the word "JOKE" in big capital letters so as not to offend anyone who didn't realize that this was GenD and everything posted here is a joke anyway. I figured the laughing smilie pretty much set the tone.
I'm just going to assume that your post is an homage recognizing the brilliant humor that my post embodies, and that the sentence fragment "The stupid things people say..." is your way of saying that I am a ******* genius.
Thank you.

Why would a new Z06 need a coolant flush?
I think the new one is an LS7
Because at the factory they add a clay like substance to the coolant as a stop leak in conjunction with wonderful DEXCOOL. Freaking GM has so many coolant related problems now its pathetic.

It's true! Dexcool, aka "Deathcool" killed my wife's car! Well, okay, didn't kill, but cost us a repair bill and when it still had trouble, we ditched it and bought the A6.

But the whole DEX-Cool thing is what happens when an engineer wants a pay raise for comming up with something the engine absolutely "needs". Sometimes their better off leaving well enough alone.

I have been running dexcool in my jeep for the last 10 years.
I have been running Peak Global extended life in my Mazda for the last 10 years as well.
I switched them both over at the same time

rob, dump the dexcool, seriously. It might look good in your radiator when you look at it but it has a serious clogging habit. You dont know how many gaskets we replace on cars with dexcool due to clogged water passages. Seriously dexcool becomes bricks of coolant in the motor and destroy ****, clogs places backing up the pressure or overheating spots which causes the gasket failure.
seriously dexcool is crap, they say 10yrs/100,000 miles, we see degradation of the dexcool at around 36-40k miles...not even the halflife of the coolant. Whenever we leave it as a dexcool system we *awlways* reccommend the customer come back in 3yrs/36,000 miles. Regular **** we say once a year is best but you could probably make it a while before seeing noticable problems.
VW's have horrid coolant systems, tons of plastic necks with millions of senders and **** plugged in to each one. There's this one bitch of a coolant piece on the 2.0 4cyl motors, costs like $175 from the dealer, list price, and i think is 1.7-2hours of labor. Nevermind the countless other problems. VW's coolant is G-12, dealer only item. Decently pricey as well. And its pink.
Oh and never use Stop-Leak in a dexcool system, it turns into like a curdled milk substance.
Least coolant problems i see is with Toyotas, especially if the "Toyota Red Coolant" is maintained in the system, its got an actual lifespan of probably 75-85kmiles and ive NEVER seen any coolant buildups or anything while using that Toyota Red. It looks like KoolAid, always makes me thirsty when i use it .
Prestone is coming out with this new "Do-It-All" coolant. They had it on shelves about 6-8months ago and had to pull it off the shelfs promptly when they found it caused problems with the older VW G-11 Coolant. Now its coming back out, and i think Peak is making one too. Basically it's coolant which can mix with any other coolant and not cause problems.
Oh and if you ever wanna fudge someones motor and coolant system, mix dexcool and regular ethylene-glycol based coolants...once it gets to operating temps a couple times it foams up and the coolant basically explodes.
How long till someone mentions that Evans coolant? wheres banzai.
Also its an LS6, from what I hear we're buying a crate motor and putting it into the car at our shop.
Anyway, cant wait to quit this god damn job, Just got off the phone with my future boss at the port authority starting pay and hours? $32/hour...40 hour week. Overtime available whenever you want it. Of course overtime is time and a half so $48/hour overtime.
