Not long ago i was in my buddies car doing 120mph as indicated on the speedo, in a pack of cars, when his cheap *** cf hood broke through the pins and came up and shattered the windshield. Shot the rear view mirror like it was a bullet! ... we just tossed the hood on the side of the freeway and drove home. with a shattered windshield.

so your hood was only being held by the latch?



was the latch at least fully locked?

No latch, just pins. Pins only do something if they're clipped.

take hinges off and use 4 pins, like race cars, safer
