The phone itself is just a stupid gadget. You need to shop for a good plan. Lots of providers will make you a great deal on a particular phone if you buy a particular plan. Just get whatever phone is cheap with your plan.

I pay just $19.95 a month (plus taxes and fees), I use a crappy Motorola phone, I almost never use up my free minutes, and I'm happy as a pig in ****!

Had my Sanyo 8100 for a year now, and after numerous drops and kicks it's still running like new.

Everything before it, Nokia, Samsung, LG sucked *****. Sprint is also improving their service this year, so I'm lovin it even more.

Cingular is a good company. I have had them for 2 years now and I am happy with them. But if I were to go with something, I would go with Nextel. But nextel is only good for one thing and that is the beep beep junks. Other than that it is like anyone else.

My mums has Tracfone and it seriously kicks ***. She pays practically nothing for minutes, and prepaid to me just rocks. No hassle of having a phone bill every month. And she has a decent motorola V60t now. She use to have some haggard Nokia 5165. The really old ones.

I would not buy the Nokia 3800, that thing is a ******' eyesore. I have the Nokia 3300. It looks like the nokia n-gage, or as my friends call it a really expensive game boy. That thing costed me 300 bucks, and I can buy one now for 50 bucks.

G'luck. All plans are GMS now, so you can call anyone anywhere. Cingular does not do to well out on the West Coast though, since there are not many towers out there. But on the east coast, the coverage map is filled up from Maine down the Florida Keys.

Damn! Some of you have good deals!

Depending on your area, find out who has the better SERVICE. Meaning reception, in all areas around you.

Here in upstate NY, its Verizon, hands down.

BUT, Verizon still has 9:00 Nights (COME ON NOW! Meet the competition dangit!) and seems to be the most expensive for comparable plans...

...but I figure...what good is 10983213 daytime minutes if you can never use em (Cause you're never getting a good signal) Right?

+ Verizon is anywhere in the US. When I am in South Carolina, its the same difference...daytime minutes are daytime minutes.

my was 25 CDN dollars and 10 cents a min long D, with free after 6 pm, and free weekends.

Then you add all these hidden charges and it goes to 40 cdn without taxes. With long D I pay around 65 a month avg.

I've got a old motorolla startac. I ran over it with the rx7, dropped it in gasoline. Dropped it down the stairs. Had it soaking in rain. And it works like new.

I have 3 phones for $69 a month, with more minutes then I know

what to do with, free long distance, roaming, cell-cell

I have had nokia phones for almost 10 years, they are the

best in my opinion, I picked my current one based solely on

battery life, size, how many calls it holds in the call log, and

the fact it has no protruding antennea that always breaks

off in your pocket.

Hmm, I had the phone in Cali, Minnesota, Indiana, and Michigan without any problems with reception. Sprint rocks, I could use rollover though.
