To make cat last longer:

1) Immediately following successful emissions test, remove catalytic converter and replace with straight pipe.

2) Shortly before next emmissions test, reinstall catalytic converter.

Or you could, like, keep your car tuned up, slightly leaner than most rotary fanatics prefer, keep the air pump and make sure it's functional.

I was thinking about trying out that Bonez High Flow cat they sell at Rx7.com. I figure why not make my car pass all the time. What do I have to lose?

You have to have the airpump or that cat will got **** in nothing flat, the air pump is what creates the combustion of the **** in the cats, no oxygen, no fire **** plugs it.
