It would be helpful if one of the cunning linguists on the forum would provide the etymological origins of the word catsup, or ketchup, and explain why both spellings seem equally pervasive.

Okay, okay. I'll do it.
According to Webster's, Main Entry: ketch·up Pronunciation: 'ke-ch&p, 'ka- Function: noun Etymology: Malay kechap fish sauce : a seasoned pureed condiment usually made from tomatoes Catsup is listed as a variant of "ketchup", so I guess the more proper spelling is ketchup. Yes, I know. But don't go overboard. A small cash donation will be sufficient. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |

It was one of the plastic bottles with the tiny hole in the lid. I had the cap closed, but it had so much build up in it that it slung open... lol.
