Well now for my story, I might post more pics later.



So i'm driving away from the car show in heavy traffic. I merge into the main highway and accelerate to keep up with traffic. Well when I let my foot off the gas I suddenly realize the car is still accelerating. So I hit the break and its still taking off like a bat out of hell. I throw it into neutral and the rpms quickly hit the rev limiter....WOW. So I throw it back into gear trying to find a good place to ditch the car onto a median, but there was none. So I am fighting the car with the breaks and pressing the gas pedal in and out to break it loose cause it is obviously stuck at WOT!! I finally find a small spot...thank god, and have already turned the car off before I hit the people in front of me. Long story short turns out my throttle cable became fraid where it goes through the fire wall and was stuck. Looks like there was suppose to be a sleave there to keep the cable from rubbing bare metal. There was no way to fix it and I was stuck on the side of the road in heavy traffic with..... A DEAD DAMN CELL PHONE. Luckily a guy let me use his phone, and being in myrtle beach, it took a while for someone to find a dolly and come get me from wilmington.



Cost to enter car show: $30

gas money to get to car show: $5

having your car's throttle stick at 100% in heavy traffic with no where to pull over, all the while pissing your pants and soiling your underwear: PRICELESS!!

a mini is definitely the car i'd choose to be stuck in.... nope that'd prolly be my only reason to enjoy my monstrosity aka durango, i would've laid the back two rows of seats down and went to bed haha.

I put a new throttle cable in my FC last year. It was working fine but had a few spots on it that were iffy. So I replaced a perfectly good piece. Well, the new cable felt soooo much smoother than the one that was good but old. Plus it's good piece of mind when I'm on the track. Hitting turn 2 at Pacific Raceways without any runoff area and trying to bleed off 130mph to 70mph is not the time I want to have any unintended acceleration.

I had my throttle stick on me once on a freeway that turned into a highway. I didnt know it was stuck untill a light was coming up and i was doing 70mph and there was traffic in front of me stopped. I tried to stop with the brakes but it just burnt my breaks, so i turned the car off and used the brakes again, but since they were already hot ass hell they didnt want to make me stop very well. I had to swerve at the last few feet so i didnt rear end the dude in front of me stopped at the light. I hopped out really quick and pushed the car to the side.

Yeah a stuck throttle cable is no joke, you have to think quick.



Being stuck in the mini was kinda cool, cause it was like I never left the car show, people waving, smiling, giving me the thumbs up, and even talking when the traffic got backed up to a stop.

good it all worked out, I had the throttle cable stick on my Trans Am when I

was on the parkway messing with a Corvette, it stuck at 145 MPH according to

when I shut the car down, the guy in the Vette pulled over with me

and told me my speed considering my speedo only went up to 85 mph, lol.

i had the exact oppistie thing happen once, the throttle cable popped off the bracket in traffic. one if the few times ive used cruise control

cool thing about that black truck, there were several of those, and while i was broke down on the road watching all the cars leave the show, those trucks were carrying hot rods.



And this truck/van was cool, had the engine behind the seats with a plexy glass window i assume so you could see the engine. Also had a window on the side so you could see the engine from the outside. Whatever it had in it, it was fricken huge, had wheelie bars on the back too.
