OK So UniqueTII and I wandered around a little car show at the Toyota dealership here in Des Moines. We of course saw lots of rice, a few cars that were actually fast and some nice bodywork.

The also had a few classics there, an MGB and a TR6.

So we're walking to the end of the line and Ed says "Oh look an NSUl Spyder" and about the same time I say "Yeah and it still has the rotary engine in it"

Yeah, that's right we saw an NSU Spyder with running rotary engine, all original and it had about 10k miles on it. We're talking almost mint condition.

VERY awesome car. VERY awesome owner (he was thrilled we knew anything about his car)

I shot a roll of disposable film on it so I'll get that developed and posted soon.

I don't even think he used up the roll yet...we'll have to get some pics of my bird **** covered car and his grasshopper covered car together. (the birds in the garage hate me and the grasshoppers hate everyone)

That car show was a sad day for the import enthusiast. It's a good thing we had the NSU guy and my friend Brandon, who owns a 300+ rwhp MR2, to talk to. The cars that won the trophies didn't have **** done under the hood...the Celica that won best of show for Performance only had an intake and exhaust, but it had a game cube, so I guess that's l33t. There was a Supra TT there, and I heard some little idiot sound upset because it didn't have naws. There was a 300zx there with a huge wing on the back, so I had to make the comment: "Look! This one has a back seat, too." The stock class was judged pretty well...the NSX took first and the S2K took second. There was an Integra turbo, an SCed ITR, a whole bunch of MR2s, a JUN powered Civic, and in the showroom was a Supra TT with the HKS twins, among other things. Best of show was a Beetle that had his hood closed the whole show...so we didn't even go look at it. Show cars are so gay, in my opinion.
