i think print screen captures the whole screen and ctrl print screen captures the active window only. both go the the clipboard, then just paste into graphics application

what i do is press print screen button, and it basically saves that in a clipboard. i just go to photoshop and go to file->new , then just paste. and that just pastes it in the file.

Whenever I press the print screen key, and try to paste it into a graphics editor, it doesnt do anything. It used to work, but I dont know why it doesnt now. Any ideas?
