Just picked up the new book by Brock Yates, he writes for Car and Driver, the true story on the Cannonball Runs from the 70's, good reading, I never realized that the movies were based on true stories, even though they ripped the script apart and changed alot of things. Brock Yates and his wife really did ride in a ambulance with a real doctor in one of the races, lol. Book is good, and im only on page 67. Suggested reading if anyone is interested .

I'll have to get it as Brock Yates does a good job of writing in Car and Driver.

OK How many of us want that job?

Brock Yates was actually one of the guys who started it, he ran the first one alone in a Dodge Van, only his team did it, the next year people signed on. At the end of the book is a listing of all the entries from all the years, a few RX-7s in 1979, all entered, all finished. Some RX-4s too, all finished.

The book is called Cannonball! Worlds Greatest Outlaw Road Race, MBI publishing. It just came out, I went out and bought it yesturday, it was raining and preety shitty out, it cost me $24, but its on Amazon cheaper, I just wanted it so I would have something to read yesturday. All this bad weather and the fact that its getting colder out and no more side jobs for me means I have too much time on my hands now, lol.

CANNONBALL!

Eh, the link didnt work for me, just search under CANNONBALL in the book area, if you never seen the original movie, its pretty good!
