Security (The drunk wagon) had to pick my detailing buddy Omar and myself up...

...and then rush us back to the bidders bar so we could pound some cocktails with Boyd Coddington!

If his real life is anything like his show American Hotrod than I would not be happy either.

He can't keep a good employee around except for Dwayne and Dwayne stays because he is just as depressed as Boyd.

He lets his ego get the best of him in every situation including the time frame he sets up for the cars he builds for the show. He even let his ego get in the way of losing a great employee like Charlie.

It may be all TV hype but if it isn't then I can see why he is an unhappy man.

That show is ****, but they do make some nice vehicles, I'll give him that. Pretty cool to meet him.

He's not as unhappy as he seems, more along the line of focused. T.V. shows and the way they are edited make people out to be different then they are when the cameras are off. You guys should have seen the **** eating grin he displayed when his Delahaye hot rod set a world record selling for $505,000!

yeah they make even our service dept look adept and competent. granted once the episode is over they end up with a nice car, our guys spend 3 months on an fd and theres no boost.

you're the buisness owner jim, if the rental bill is $26 a day times 90 days, where did your profit go?

I am not sure I get the question. Expand please.

89Rag - I agree reality TV is B.S. they can skew a set of events through editing to make it seem like something else.

Boyd appears to be a cool guy from what little I have seen of the show. He is a business man and he is trying to make a good profit. He knows what has to be done how fast it has to be done and what quality it should be for him to make the big money. Some guys have the instincts and drive to make this happen then there are all the thousands of other shops no one has ever heard of that can never turn a profit in their lives and just live poor doing what they love.
