We had GE owned plane that had been leased to the saudi's thing was horrible, was in horrible shape (you should have seen where the mechanics that flew with the plane slept) anyhow, we were 6 weeks over schedule and a guy from GE comes in and says "put this ******* plane back together and have it ready by the end of the week, I will have an engineer sign off on anything that's questionable" Ok so we throw the piece of **** back together and the engineer pencil whips it, i did not go on the test flight, but when they touched down the front strut blew and it almost went off the runway. Good times.

what if the pilot was out drinking the night before? how many hours is acceptable to be flying a plane after drinking?

I prefer drunken pilots. It's more of an adventure.

Typical rule of thumb is 8 hours bottle to throttle...or toke to yoke, lol. .04 blood alcohol level also. Most airline guys are drunks cause there's nothing else to do at the hotel the night before, so half hung over pilots is not uncommon, lol. The guys I flew to Cali and back.....goodness we drank a shitload that night and up at 6:30 am bright and early to fly back. Kinda sounds like our mechanic that fixes our planes. One time I took off after a plane came out of maintenance, and the throttle assemble came apart, throwing the butterfly valve on the intake wide open. Luckily I have half a brain and just pulled the mixture when it was time to stop flying. Our mechanic is a good ole boy so it was sorta cool, but at the same time I was like dude put the **** back together properly.

Depends how much you drink. A few drinks isn't much. A keg is. Flying isn't that hard honestly, its boring 99 percent of the time. Its just that other 1 percent when things like tires blowing out at 150 mph.

I hate it when my seat is backwards. Especially when I don't have my mirror to see over my shoulder.

People would try to sue if they got their kite stuck in a Electric Transformer and got electrocuted right next to a "don't fly your kite here" sign so I have gotten used to the fact people are morons...
