My TII blew the rear rotor on June 28th, on the way to Rotorfest... After I got the poor car back home, I stripped the engine bay, pulled the motor and shipped it off to Pineapple Racing. It got there on July 25th. They told me it would be a good 4 weeks before they my motor would be done, as they had about 30 other motors in the shop at the time.

In the meantime, I've gotten lots of things done like the TB mod, lots of miscellaneous interior stuff, cleaned out the engine bay, did a little rewiring. I'm going to be pretty much upgrading the entire suspension: AGX adjustable shocks, Eibach springs, ST anti-sway bars (that front bar is BEEFY!), polyurethane bushings and the like. I'm just waiting for the shocks to arrive to begin installing all that stuff. I would have gotten front and rear strut tower braces, but I'm out of money. I also would have gone with a nice street/strip clutch kit and a lightened flywheel, but the clutch is rather new (only 10,000 miles) and again, I'm out of money.

I picked up a nice little '85 base off of eBay for only $500. It's got a fresh and lightly streetported rebuild, and bunch of brand new stock parts (radiator, shocks, brakes, etc...) but the carb needs to be rebuilt. I ordered a rebuild kit from Napa that was supposed to be in last week, but it hasn't come yet. This car is supposed to be my RX-7 to drive while the TII was under extended surgery, though with luck, it'll be running by the end of the week.

I was thinking about calling Pineapple today just to see what the status on my motor was, but I didn't. I think I was too afraid that they'd say something like that it would be a few more weeks until they got around to it or something... Maybe I'll call next week... It'll probably be mid to late September until the TII is running again, and then I have to break it in for a good 1500 miles... just in time to put it away for the winter... *sigh*.. I guess all I'm saying is that I'm getting tired of waiting... I miss my car so much... but I guess these things take time.

Anyway... to make this a more worthwhile post instead of just some depressive rambling... What do you guys do to cope with not being able to drive your car for extended periods of time? Especially during extended periods of beautiful sunny summer weather?

Lol... umm.. real encouraging words ya got tho share there guys... Lol, j/k. Lemme rephrase the question though: How is someone who is under the age of 21 supposed to cope with not having his car? Lol. I really don't want to have to resort to alcohol, heh... Drinking's not really my thing anyway.

I just come here and miss my car some more. Or I drive my Subaru around and miss my car some more. Or I go see it at RD's house and get upset because I'm not driving it.

I guess there's no avoiding the fact that I miss driving my car.
