I beat an rx8 driving my pos stock base model 2nd gen
Base model 2nd gen: $500
Pacesetter header w/ wrap : $160
Pacesetter exhaust: $150 used
Hks Intake: $150
Beating a car 20 years newer that cosed 30k: PRICELESS
thats hardly an indicator of what a car can do.. run your car at a local autox event and see how well your base fc does..

we ran the rx8 with 2 people in it at sears point, coming out of turn 11 it was neck and neck with a factory 5 cobra all the way to the start finish line, thats as straight a line as there is at sears.... next lap it did the same with an older porsche 911.

FCs are decently fast little *******. I would take an RX-8 over an RX-7 any day, but there's nothing like the FC. I hate the FD (Don't bash me, damn you). Power means nothing if it's not tractable. The Honda Fit Sport beat a Corvette Z06 through an Emergency Lane Change test, you know. It may only have 102hp, but it's all tractable. Get the point? Good. My GXL was stock and slow in a straight line, but heaven forbid you challenge me to something with turns..
Edit: Another example is something I saw on Top Gear today (Old episode). The Vauxhall Vectra with this big and powerfull engine beats a Mazdaspeed 6 in a straight line, but try and corner it and the understeer was so horrid I was laughing until it hurt. He was in a turn understeering completely straight because the chassis simply is horrible and it couldn't put the power down efficiently in any sense other than a straight line. (And still there was wheelspin that just went on, and on, and on...)
Case in point.
Stop complaining :-p

yeah comparisons are funny, at the last 25 hour enduro the honda fit sport got beat by an 81 VW rabbit, and not by a little bit, the rabbit trounced it, 44 laps i think. which means the Z06 is one slow peice of crap, donnit?
