I may have the need to learn a second language, anyone tried the cd route? I used to be reasonably fluent so I figure it''ll be a bit easier to re-learn then to learn fro scratch.

take a class at a local community college, in person with a live instructor is the only way to learn other languages IMO. I speak german prob 85% fluent, and engrish prob 50% fluent all from classes, Not TOO much french but I only have a semester of it so ..

I agree with the class deal. I tried to learn from scrath on the CDs and couldn't deal with it...Picked up a few words here and there but that was it. Since you had it before it probably would work for you tho.

get the "rosetta stone" cd its supposively the best and easiest to use language program. its not repetitive drills and ****, it takes and slow and starts with easy words and ****.



they used to sell it on a cart in the local mall but i know theyre online too, theyre a big company.

I took a night class in beginning French a couple years ago. It was fun, and I learned a little French, but you won't become fluent in just one class. If you have the time to devote to it, I'm sure that some of the better book/tape combos will get you up to speed more quickly.

yea i'm not ready to go into detail, don't want to count any chickens before they are hatched or "jinx" anything. It's one thing to visit as a tourist and another to take up residency.... figure knowing the language might be near a necesity.



I think classes would be my best bet, it's nice to have someone who can answere your questions.
