In the beginning.

How about a history lesson on the start of Nopistons, I started reading a little while after the start so I don't know the whole where and why story. I am sure there are others that would like to know to.

Well I guess I'll take a quick stab at this one, although it's been a while so many of the details have probably slipped my mind at this point.
I started the place for all the reasons we still know today, to effectively avoid corporate control of the forum, ie a company paying the bills that puts it's best interests before the interests of the members. Avoiding the cliche "use the search feature" bullshit and helping people out. I think that's what quickly got us recognized as the "technical forum". I've switched back and forth between two models over the years, 1) sponsor support to pay the bills and 2) member support to pay the bills. I think after all this I've decided to go with the member support to pay the bills and if that can't do it, then **** it.
It started with just ThirdGenRX7 and myself as admins, then later JaySpec7 and vosko. Jayspec left for whatever reason to go to rx7forums which was ran by this dude named slava. He made all kinds of promises and screwed all kinds of people, I eventually brokered a deal to bring the member base of rx7forums over (not the posts) and combine the two forums, which was then named rx7scene.com (still have that domain, this is what RotorBalls was referring to). The staff has changed some, but for the most part it's remained pretty constant, all the mods are pretty damn dedicated to this place even though they don't get any more or for that matter much thanks they do a hell of a job and their knowledge and patience has really been what's kept us on the map.
Along the way I've wasted a few bucks and countless hours, we got hacked a couple times in the early days and at one time we even thought we lost everything, i managed to recover an old backup and we only lost a couple of months worth of data. We've outgrown our dedicated server so many times I don't even want to count it up. T-shirts, shot glasses, vinyl stickers, visit nopistons.com business cards, sweatshirts, lanyards, bottle openers and beer mugs are just a few things that have sported the nopistons.com logo over the years.
We've had ups and downs, arguments and fights, good times and bad, but all in all it's been a pretty fun run so far. I've met people from all over the US in person, stayed at their homes, them at mine, met their girlfriends, now ex wives and seen banzai with his shirt off. We've had a few people wonder off that I always wonder why or what happened to them and sometimes they even wander back in to say hello. I'm not sure if there's much more to add, I'm sure there is, but I'm sure someone will remind me and add it to the post.
Is that what you were looking for?
