so here's a BATU! moment. the radio station in buenos aires, in 1957, decides to re-air the war of the worlds. http://drzeus.best.vwh.net/wotw/0201.html
the entire town panics and runs into the street to avoid the martian death rays (i think i would have stayed inside?), and then when they find out that its not real, they get mad and burn the radio station down
