on a side note i am sitting here tuning and the tuner is on BASS, flat or something... snap goes the 3 rd string... i suck LOL

If you're just playing by yourself, tune the low E (top string I guess?) to where it sounds familiar, then just tune all the other strings to that (the 5th and 4th fret thing, for the string below it, you know that?). It may not be in tune to a piano or something, but all the chords will sound fine.
