Well im getting ready to take a 740 mile, 13 hour, road trip... by myself. My girlfriend is grieving over a lost friend (motorcycle accident) and has broken up with me, hopefully temporarily but its going day by day right now.

Anyway onto my trip. Driving from my town, wayne, nj out to pittsburgh PA in my stupid 91 suburban, once i get to pitt. i gotta pickup a car dolly trailer from a uhaul up there, i reserved it early today for tomorrow. Then i gotta go to the kids house and pickup my new 88 n/a. Hopefully this will quench my thirst for driving something rotary powered while im still putting together my 89 t2 project.

The only thing that i believe the car needs is new ujoints/driveshaft, so when i make it back home ill be going straight to work on it at my work (i have keys to the shop and 24 hour access) it has a bunch of goodies and depending on if the problem is just a ujoint or not i might wind up parting out all the aftermarket goodies and use the sheel for something crazy, and probably p-ported.

thx phins.

oh BTW, the mileage and time in my original post is the TOTAL, aka "round trip". each way is 370 miles and 6.5 hours.

and so my collection begins. BTW *gasp* if this motor turns out funky it might be getting *gulp* pistons. only to contrast my other fc.

What - you towed a car with bad U-joints, and didn't pull the drive shaft?

Oops..
