dumb dumb dumb questions (but hey, i gotta find answers one way or another):

looking to get an auto-starter, seeing how my 7 likes to run warm, but i hate waiting for the sucker to warm up...

just looking for a dependable remote auto-starter. nothing expensive and fancy shmancy.

1) doesn't the clutch need to be pressed down to start the engine? i'm sure its just a signal being sent to the ignition allowing it to be cranked only after the clutch is depressed (aww poor clutch is sad), so i'm guessing there is something that 'over-rides' that function.

isnt that bad? in any way? if not, why even bother making it neccesary for the clutch to be pressed down?

2) can i still park in gear? i have a habit of leaving it in first, cuz i learned very early on that it puts less strain on the e-brake when i do that. its not a big issue, but im afraid i'll just naturally leave it in first, auto start it, and see my car drive away...into another car.

3) how much does that set up cost? is it feasible to do it myself after i buy the equipment? wut do you guys suggest?

btw '90 gxl. in case you dun see the sig.

oh might as well ask while i got your attention: any good co-operative 2 player ps2 games out there? me and my girl get bored, and she likes ps2 so i figured we could play together. like rpg-ish. (secret of mana type is wut im going for; if that strikes a cord with any old school snes users.)

thanks in advance. any and all feedback appreciated.

you can disable the clutch switch to use an auto starter, BUT IF YOU LEAVE THE CAR IN GEAR YOU ARE FUCKED!!! it will either jump forward a few feet and hit something, or the car may actually start and take off. You can put an autostart in a stick car, it's not that hard to install, butt you have to start learning to leave the car in neutral with the E-brake on.
