Plenty of servers up on 1.6, and lots with custom maps like BlackHawkDown 24/7 too! I have a huge list that loads even though my filters are:
Under 150 Ping
Has users Playing
Is not Full
No Password Needed
And we're talking mostly 20-80 ping too.
So I don't know if perhaps your PC sucks and can't handle the steam download, or if nobody plays where you're from, or if you still use Microsoft DOS...but this new CS is pretty cool, and is catching on (And yes, I know 1.5 still has a lot of fans, my other PC is old, crappy, and I play 1.5 on that if I feel inclined to do so)

i played 1.6 for about a week. And no my computer isnt shitty and cant run it. I just find it very lame, the new weapons suck, the new maps suck, and steam blows some serious ***. With its stupid *** auto implimentation into other games and auto downloads, etc .. if you want to keep an oversight on whats happening with your computer, steam is not a good program. But if you're one of those people that clicks yes to an active x install saying you need it to get out of credit card debt, then yeah, i can see why people use steam.
