??? dad picked one up, and i use an older macbook to browse the internet, and OMG the ipad is so much better. its really easy to use, compared to the macbook. the mac book also likes to give me the rainbow spinny thing for seemingly no reason, no so on the ipad.
the ipad keyboard is really easy too.
anyways, i like it! way better than a laptop, in a non work sitch

My wifey had to have one. She said she hadn't bought any toys lately. I'm like "What, the '97 BMW 328iC doesn't count?" She said "Nope!" What's a poor man to do? Keep in mind the girl already has a 2010 Mazda 3s.
So I've played with it a little. The graphics are nice. I play pinball on it. She likes it 'cause she'll be able to check email while we're on vacation later this summer. Seems like most of the free apps are sales tools for the full version which costs $. Kinda like old fashioned shareware.
So, as a gadget I like it. Value? I don't own a laptop, so I don't know how the ipad stacks up in comparison. Seems like a laptop would be more capable, but what do I know?

yeah the imac was a hand me down... even the base ipad is like $400, which is like oh i dunno, a couple strip club visits?
capable? in different ways. there's no excel on the ipad, but there's no handy level on the laptop.

I still haven't seen one in person, I was sure my buddy, the apple fanboi would have one, but apparently times have been a tad rough and he couldn't buy one yet.. I have seen a video on a gaming site of the scrabble you can get for it, you can play with 4 iphones and the ipad, the iphone would hold your letters, and when its your turn you flick em onto the ipad and arrange em. seems nice but thats a expensive way to play scrabble.
