Got a new bike. A 1982 Honda CB900C. Took all the carbs off, cleaned the hell out of them and then put them back on. It has a fun time trying to idle, it idles, but when you drive it and pull in the clutch, it jumps up to like 4K rpms, and then you have to rev it for a little, then it sometimes goes down. Also, it feels like it isnt getting enough fuel or too much. I have not synced up the carbs yet and perhaps this is all it needs.

I am running a crap load of cleaners in it right now so that could be an issue. High octane fuel is in it also, 104 to be exact.

This thing runs a crap load better than when I first got the bike, so I know whatever I am doing is working. I just need some input, I hate carbs so I dont know much about them.

Choke is always open. I only use the choke to start it when its cold.

I just got back from riding it for about an hour and it seems to be getting better and better as I drive it, but the idle gets higher and higher.

I know they can be a pain in the ***. I've been messing with the Keihin carbs on my '76 KZ400, but I still don't have one of them right.

The jets are not adjustable. Nothing on the carbs are adjustable, you cant even adjust the timing. The only thing you can adjust are the pilot screws. I will try to sync them up now and see if that helps at all. Now I gotta go get some vac. gauges.

Thanks for the input so far

Well, got it to idle around 2K now. Has better throttle response and seems to bog under mild acceleration. It also pops alot during deceleration. Also, the carbs do not sneeze anymore.
