I took a classical guitar class in high school, after I already knew how to read music. After that, any electric guitar seemed easy. Try playing bar chords (power chords?) on an acoustic, that's hard.

yeah you gotta get to know it. thats my problem on the bass too, i'm also not used to listening to the bass track of the music either

Yes.

Not really just listen to the bass line and mimic. Sooner or later you'll figure out what you're doing at which point you pick up on the various techniques.
