Why??? Are they bad or somthing?? I've had pretty good luck with mine. I just got the $799 deal. 933mhz 20 gig hard drive, cd burner and everything.

The only problem I have is the stupid speakers. They crackel when they're turned on and there is nothing being played. It's almost like a bad ground??? They are Harman/Kardon.

seems like they are a POS. I'm just about to use my warrenty.

I think that alot of the parts in their systems--at least the power supplies--are proprietary. So if anything ever goes bad you MUST use their parts, instead of generic stuff.

Dell really isn't as proprietary as some on the market... say Compaq. Any mass produced system is going to be less reliable then something put together with quality parts you know what and where they came from, but the difference between the two isn't that major.

It's the difference between walking into the computer shop and snagging a part you know will work with your system and snagging one that may not go well with the "Gateway".

It's a matter of preference too, my system goes doewn there is no 800 number to call... that piece of mind can be worth the extra cash for the system.

And yea make sure you guys PM vosko for titles he has been complaining he hasn't had enough PM's lately... as for me, well I had to clear out the inbox cause there were 433 messages in the last 10 days so sorry if you didn't get a reply, last week was busy guys, but I am usually pretty good about it.
