I've been playing guitar for about 15 years now. been in some bands along the way. Never really got into drums. The only thing I can play on Bass is Cliff Burton's solo. everyone who plays bass should know how to play that. I have a Jackson Randy Rhodes "V", and an ESP Hammett signature axe. Marshall JCM 900 stack, tons of effects ****, a fender acoustic and this little beauty I just bought as a valentine's day gift to myself

I played alto sax for 8 years bari for two. Used to be pretty good, made national high school honor band once, and sat principal sax two years in high school. Also played a few concerts with a local orchestra, playing the solo part in Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. Went to governer's school and played jazz, sax quintet, woodwind trio and quartet, and a few solos. Haven't had the time to play here though. They offered me a scholorship but it wasn't worth it considering the time involved. Been thinking about picking it up again this summer maybe. Now I play mandolin and guitar, more mandolin. That's pretty fun. Definately take lessons, and learn all your major and minor scales, then start working on thirds fourths etc. Once you have all those down you will never see a lick that you haven't played.

I play a guitar. I can **** up a bass pretty well, I can hit the drums some too.

I haven't played with others in a while. I still keep a six string around. Pick it up at least once a day.

Nice Ovation. I'm jealous.

Let see I play:

Guitar

Bass

Mandolin

Penny Whistle

Bagpipes

Mountain Dulcimer

I never found that it hurt my fingers to play the bass. I guess if you play the guitar first the caluses are more then enough to deal with those huge bass strings. Switching to the bass for awhile as a guitarist will make you think a bit differently.

Saw a 10 string bass the other day. That is a 5 string bass with harmony strings. Think 12 string guitar...

Get flat wound strings if you don't play enough to keep your fingertips nice and tough.

drums in just about any form you've seen them, percussion stuff, steel drums ect for 6 years

toured around the east for a couple years in a heavy/hardcore band, then hopped in a cover band for a year or two and helped supported myself for a while, right up until I moved to florida.

kit is still setup in the extra bedroom and i play a couple, three times a week, depending on free time.
