I really want to buy stock in Google.



The only problem is, I'm a college student and due to the dutch-style auction of the shares, I would have to open an account with Morgan-Stanley or some crap.



My question to you, the investors, is it worth it to open an account to get Google stock, and how much is it to open their "basic" account?

just from the results of what has happened with all of the other dot-com companies, i wouldn't. and I'd start small, deal with penny stocks (less that a dollar) and use that as practice, then move up to the big stuff.

Simple, they advertise.

Just go down to a stock broker and buy whatever you want. The online stuff always looks like they hit you up with fees and other crap. You will have to pay a small fee through a broker, but such is life. I sold my corning stocks earlier this year and paid for my FD in full, and still had a nice chunk of change left over. I'd say go for it. I've heard Google is the fastest growing company in any market.
