Yeah I'm part of one of Ranger Regiments designated Marksman Teams, Sniper Teams, Scout Teams, etc whatever you wanna call it. Although in all honesty I havent done much of it all since I left Benning last Jan.
Being good with a rifle is one thing, it can be taught. Its the fieldcraft that sets shooters apart. You can be a decent shot, but with amazing fieldcraft and you're a more valuable asset than an Olympic shooter with no fieldcraft.

what is fieldcraft? ive been hunting since i was 11 or 12, my first deer was taken at 330yds thru deep brush, dropped it where it stood, clean shot thru the lungs.

Fieldcraft is basically how good you are at every other aspect of sniping. Stalking, avoiding ambushes, smelling booby-traps, survival skills, camuflauge skills. Moving quietly, patience, a million other things.
The best guys in the world come by all this stuff naturallys and they are amazing to watch/work with.

hmm my camo, survival, and stalking skills are great.
animals have yet to booby trap or ambush me tho..... but i can sense when cops are setting me up
would you enlist again if you had the chance? im seriously considering going for it.
