**** them they can't do a damn thing!
uh, they can take your tag number, and mail you a ticket.

and yes, they can step out in front of your car. I've been pulled over that way (nearly plowed the woman over with my motorcycle). They do that a lot around here. I would recommend calling, it couldn't hurt.

what are they going to give him a ticket for changing lanes? he didn't do anything wrong. as long as he used a turn signal he's okay.

from the cop's point of view, it may not seem that way.

That's why it's best to call, just in case he's some crazy radical cop who says you attempted to murder him with your car or some crap.

bah it wouldn't be attemted murder unless he actually tried to strike him with the vehicle...the tires squealed from him stopping not punching the gas. and there is no such thing as attemted manslaughter. your fine, most cops are pigs, and what you shoulda done is told him to get the hell outta your way.

UPDATE: I ended up calling a leaving an appologeting messege with the dispatcher. Got a call back from a detective, he says he wants me to come in for a chit-chat. I told him I would come in this evening after work.

It looks like they are going to slap me with a summons. Workst case scenario...I think they will either try and claim eluding police, or more likely reckless driving.

Either way, I'm about to be barked at by a mean detective. Damn...I wansnt thinking this morning....it was just instinct to swerve away from an object directly in my path. ****.

scum... I have been in similiar situation, only I jetted off as the police came to the scene. They usually give you a phone call or stop by if they have your plates..
