u could state anything in "general terms" that would be unprovable by fact as you could merely discount it by saying it was an exception to the rule.



I could say everyone is gay, then when people say "that means yer gay" i could reply that i was speaking generally.



There's no way to prove or disprove a broad generalization. I'd like to see you prove that all "jarheads" are mentally 12.

I dont know where youre from, but maybe your area of the globe is just full of retards and the ones that go into the military are the smart ones. Who knows... But I assure you that the bar is raised a bit higher in terms of my geographic location. I've visited united states military sites all around the globe and again, my original notion stands, marines are generally stupid.



Now, before you guys get all up in arms again, the world needs people to fight and die for others to live. Thats the cold realization of life on this planet. There is simply not enough resources to accomidate everyone, so we need to take what we can, often by force. I in no way agree with the policies of the united states in obtaining massive amounts of these resources, but I also enjoy the luxuries they provide. I mean, reflecting on the topic at hand, I dont even see what their is to debate. I said my opinion, you all said yours, we dont agree... live with it.



Someone said it was their duty to serve and defend the united states. I agree to some extent. When the united states is attacked and a request upon its citizens to fight is justified, then yes, your civic duty is to protect your home land. Fact is, we are not being attacked, we are attacking for unclear reasons. So what are you protecting?



I never said I dont support and feel for the individuals that are serving in the military. I just said that marines are dumb.

I myself an a capitalist and I dont really see a future in signing a 4 year contractual agreement with the united states. I answer to the highest bidder with the least amount of legal obligation.





And rob, im speaking in general terms, I'm sure you caught that.

also, Im not trying to prove anything, like I said in my previous post, there is no arguable debate here. Its a matter of opinion and personal experience. Hence why general terms would apply.

What erks me is all the impressionable people. If there werent any skeptics then nothing would be challenged. I advise you to pick up a copy of 'the new pearl harbor', rob. I think you'll find it interesting, reguardless of your political position. Now, I like to stay neutral and apply only actual experiences and solid 2nd party sources to my actual opinions. If you want to flick on fox news and get your info from there, far be it for me to call you wrong.



I'm no politician, nor am I an anti-war advocate or whatever else you'd want to call me. I just think that people give into the media far too easily. You are TOLD its al qaeda that crashed planes into the trade towers. You are TOLD Afganistan is the heart of terrorism (which is such a loose word and thrown around WAY too easily), you are TOLD Iraq had ties with al qaeda and was housing nuclear weapons, you are TOLD we are 'liberating' Iraq, etc. etc... you get my point.



You need to wonder how much of it is truth and how much of it is to help along an agenda of someone else. I can assure you I lie to people all the time to make money and gain something for myself. I will manipulate people until I get my desired results. I'm not half as bad as politicians, I'm not half as funded and I dont want half the stuff they want. So think about it like that ... Youre being lied to on a constant basis. If you want to be impressionable, well I wish I could bask in the same ignorance and have everything I need to know fed to me.
