I got this from my father who is a "former Marine"...

December 9, 2005 (CNN)

While interviewing an anonymous US Special Forces soldier, a Reuters News agent asked the soldier what he felt when sniping members of Al Quaeda in Afghanistan.

The soldier shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 01:55 AM

Thats because they lack the matter in the skull that produces thoughts and feelings. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Similar simple pressure sensories in an uncomplex nervous system are common among the lowest of creatures also!

The Meat 01-13-2006 05:28 AM

I hope this is not towards the Marine complex.

Nothing wrong with that.

The quicker you realise the world is a cruel place, the better off you will be. Im sure that "sniper" felt the cruelty the first time he was ducking behind a corner watching the wall get disintergrated by "civilians" with automatic rifles.

Like our saying in 1MarDiv Battalion 2/1 USMC "KILLING IS OUR BUSINESS, AND BUSINESS IS GOOD!" Proud as hell to have served as a MARINE!

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 02:37 PM

lol.. marines are such goobers...

donhayes 01-13-2006 02:55 PM

That is a good response.

Seppuku 01-13-2006 03:21 PM

i dont agree with sidewinder here. my friend and his wife are marines. his wife graduated from hs with honors in everything. i drove his wife to NC last night just to seehim

nopistons94 01-13-2006 03:26 PM

big nose is too much of a ***** to even have say in this matter. I was civil air patrol for 5 years and spent a few summers at the local marine training camps, sure don't believe in whats going on over there, but sure do believe in our soliders. ALWAYS respected

sweet7 01-13-2006 04:44 PM

We need to just make this entire topic a ******* no-fly zone.

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 05:16 PM

lol... I thought I already shut you up nancyboy? Watch out, air patrol! Oh man... whoa! That must have been tough in your girl pants.

I think you guys are missing my point and some of you need to just agree to disagree. If you want to make minimal money, not think for yourself and die in the name of a fabricated cause. Be my guest... but I'm not going to sit there and say "wow hes so bad ass for being a marine!" I come from a military family, I've grown up around all branches. I've been to my share of military camps, I've worked with many military folk and one thing that Ive found is similar in all under the age of 30, they never grew past the age of 12 mentally. Kinda like emo bitch boy.

Rob x-7 01-13-2006 05:59 PM

so what your saying is that your family members have the mentality of a 12 year old?

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 06:26 PM

Did you read the under 30 part?

Rob x-7 01-13-2006 06:27 PM

so once they get over 30 then they dont have the mentality of a 12 year old anymore?

1988RedT2 01-13-2006 06:52 PM

It has been my experience that most of the men and women who have risked their lives in service to their country have a much higher level of maturity than the pseudo-intellectual punks who make so much noise criticizing them. For many, it's not a matter of how much money they can make, near- or long-term. It's about a little thing called duty to country, and I thank them all.

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 07:02 PM

lol.. youre right, im just a psudointellectual punk. Cant one of you offer some sort of valid argument though?

And rob, im speaking in general terms, I'm sure you caught that.

Rob x-7 01-13-2006 07:09 PM

are you just looking for a arguement or are you trying to make a point?

phinsup 01-13-2006 07:15 PM

u could state anything in "general terms" that would be unprovable by fact as you could merely discount it by saying it was an exception to the rule.

I could say everyone is gay, then when people say "that means yer gay" i could reply that i was speaking generally.

There's no way to prove or disprove a broad generalization. I'd like to see you prove that all "jarheads" are mentally 12.

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 07:16 PM

sorry, the quick edit timed out... here is the whole post...

lol.. youre right, im just a psudointellectual punk. Cant one of you offer some sort of valid argument though?

I dont know where youre from, but maybe your area of the globe is just full of retards and the ones that go into the military are the smart ones. Who knows... But I assure you that the bar is raised a bit higher in terms of my geographic location. I've visited united states military sites all around the globe and again, my original notion stands, marines are generally stupid.

Now, before you guys get all up in arms again, the world needs people to fight and die for others to live. Thats the cold realization of life on this planet. There is simply not enough resources to accomidate everyone, so we need to take what we can, often by force. I in no way agree with the policies of the united states in obtaining massive amounts of these resources, but I also enjoy the luxuries they provide. I mean, reflecting on the topic at hand, I dont even see what their is to debate. I said my opinion, you all said yours, we dont agree... live with it.

Someone said it was their duty to serve and defend the united states. I agree to some extent. When the united states is attacked and a request upon its citizens to fight is justified, then yes, your civic duty is to protect your home land. Fact is, we are not being attacked, we are attacking for unclear reasons. So what are you protecting?

I never said I dont support and feel for the individuals that are serving in the military. I just said that marines are dumb. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I myself an a capitalist and I dont really see a future in signing a 4 year contractual agreement with the united states. I answer to the highest bidder with the least amount of legal obligation.

And rob, im speaking in general terms, I'm sure you caught that.

Right now im playing devils advocate just to see whats up.

Obviously I was jumpped on and bashed because of my statement. Dont I have a right to defend my opinions?

also, Im not trying to prove anything, like I said in my previous post, there is no arguable debate here. Its a matter of opinion and personal experience. Hence why general terms would apply.

Rob x-7 01-13-2006 07:27 PM

I am a Marine- guess im dumb

when terrorism comes knocking on your door in your corner of the world maybe you will change your mind. I know- it wont happen to you, everyone else knew it was going to happen to them I guess, guess they were too dumb too to not get killed that day

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 07:41 PM

Whats terrorism rob?

yeah, and remember because of terrorists, no one at all can fly over or near NYC.. (according to rob)

but what the **** would i know, im just a pilot.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA !

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 08:32 PM

What erks me is all the impressionable people. If there werent any skeptics then nothing would be challenged. I advise you to pick up a copy of 'the new pearl harbor', rob. I think you'll find it interesting, reguardless of your political position. Now, I like to stay neutral and apply only actual experiences and solid 2nd party sources to my actual opinions. If you want to flick on fox news and get your info from there, far be it for me to call you wrong.

I'm no politician, nor am I an anti-war advocate or whatever else you'd want to call me. I just think that people give into the media far too easily. You are TOLD its al qaeda that crashed planes into the trade towers. You are TOLD Afganistan is the heart of terrorism (which is such a loose word and thrown around WAY too easily), you are TOLD Iraq had ties with al qaeda and was housing nuclear weapons, you are TOLD we are 'liberating' Iraq, etc. etc... you get my point.

You need to wonder how much of it is truth and how much of it is to help along an agenda of someone else. I can assure you I lie to people all the time to make money and gain something for myself. I will manipulate people until I get my desired results. I'm not half as bad as politicians, I'm not half as funded and I dont want half the stuff they want. So think about it like that ... Youre being lied to on a constant basis. If you want to be impressionable, well I wish I could bask in the same ignorance and have everything I need to know fed to me.

Seppuku 01-13-2006 08:45 PM

i just met 20 marines here none of wich were in anyway what you describe most marines. in fact the batt on the car i drove up is dead each tried to help in someway. i dont understand why you feelthe need to always be a cocky know it all but its rather annoying. and to say the lifes of those like my friend that risk it all for assholes like you are no more than that of a sacrifice because they arent able to do any better is complete ignorance. maybe your family is retarded but to say they all are would be

Seppuku 01-13-2006 08:53 PM

the psp wouldnt allow me to type anymore but to finish to say that would be like saying the whole world is full of morons like you and i should shoot myself now to avoid the hassle later

i hope ur not trying to say sf guys are stupid or something.... they require i high iq to be accepted to selection.

sidewinderx7 01-13-2006 11:13 PM

SF are an exception to the moronic rule, as yes, they do require a higher degree of smarts.

Youre right, seppuku, Im just an *******, prick, whatever... But I sleep well at night https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png As for being cocky and know it all ... I just seem to know it all compaired to people like you with no arguing skills what-so-ever. Cocky? Yes ... But if you could come up with something halfway articulate then I would listen with open ears and an open mind. Remember, this topic discussion is a matter of opinion. People in the world will not always share the same views... now refer to my last post about media and you will see where I'm coming from.

Also, I never said they werent nice people... lots of them are great people and love to help, that even seems to be one of the armed forces new marketing points!

And tell ya what, when one of your friends dies so I can continue on with my feeble existance, I'll be greatful for his/her heroic acts. I just dont make a corelation with some 18 year old kid popping off a few rounds in iraq and saving my life. Dig me?

donhayes 01-13-2006 11:57 PM

I think its funny how you make an arrogant broad stereotype comment and think you know everything. Saying that all Marines are stupid under the age of 30 is the most ridicules thing I have ever heard. Many of the Marines I know have college educations and are not stupid. That comment you made is stupid and shows where your intelligence level is at. It’s fine to disagree with the government but not okay to shun our troops. Not every 18 year old has rich parents to send them away on New Years Eve vacations every year, so they get a job. And the military is a job. One that contributes to society in many ways. You many not like the military and its ways but if it were gone you’d miss its benefits.

The Meat 01-14-2006 01:10 AM

I'm glad everyone agrees with the military statement. I thought it was funny to post and thought some people would get a small chuckle and a little more pride in their country and military forces.

Also, I'm glad sidewinderx7 can sleep safe and well at night because of the freedom and safety the military and my father has given him.

sidewinderx7 01-14-2006 02:08 AM

Jesus christ, dont you guys read my whole post before replying? lol

Just about everything you say has already been covered previously.

Youre right, your father is giving me my freedom to sleep at night. Because without him, I wouldnt have the luxury of closing my eyes and laying down. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Sinful7 01-14-2006 02:13 AM

Hey T, do you put the emphasis on the first syllable of your last name? Like.. Arket, or is it like arKET?

sidewinderx7 01-14-2006 03:54 AM

Its pronounced like arquette ... Ar-Ket ... Arrrrrrrr

AMEN

i'm so ******* sick of people criticizing 'the war'.... 'the war' is just a general term that all of the pseudo-intellectual punks use to generalize everything they hate about what's going on with our country. PLEASE, God, Buddha, Allah, whatever or whoever the **** you pray to, wake these idiots up.

you're pissed off about the president, your job, the economy, your life sucks, blah blah blah.

"I don't support the war in Iraq, but I support our troops"

to me, that doesn't make any sense at all. support the men and women risking their lives for our country, but don't support how they're risking it?

Il RX8 lI 01-14-2006 07:51 AM

I just don't criticize what I couldn't do. I know for a fact that even basic training would probably kill me, physically or mentally. I'm an academics-based person but I don't think that I would have the fortitude of mind to put up with most in the Army/Marines do. I have a grandfather that was in the Korean War, and an Uncle (passed) in Vietnam. Right now, I don't have any close personal friends involved in some sort of military, but I have in the past. The way I see it, it's different strokes for different folks. The people I used to know were like any other person I generally hang out with (somewhat intellectual, genuinely nice) they were just bigger (a lot) than me.
