There not the infantrys finest maybe in the army they are but not out of all military services.
I think your recruiter fed you a line of **** man. First of all, you cant lock in "Airborne Ranger". You have to go through basic, then get Airborne qualified. After being airborne qualified your next step is RIP, which is a pre-ranger course. Then on top of that, you have to actually complete Ranger school. Getting a shot at Ranger school is the easy part....And you better be a badass if you want a shot at Delta. You dont enlist for Delta, they find you. All you can do is be a stand-out and hope they notice you... I leave for basic Nov. 18th, after which i have AIT training, then Air Assault school(Airborne) After that im qualified to try Ranger school which means nothing more than a try-out spot. I also have a letter of intent to special forces. That simply means when I reach rank, or I get a waiver, then I have a try-out spot for SF. I hate to break it to you man, but your about 10% of the way there....Either way good luck and bust your ***!!
I enlisted way back in 98 for guranteed ranger. what MOS did they give you 11 x-ray ? anyway just be careful, they guarantee you ranger training but not placement into a ranger unit. I caught that before i signed and had it worded into my enlistment contract that I was to be placed into a ranger unit. just remember the training and school never stops we were ALWAYS training. oh and RIP or the Ranger Indoctrination Program is as always Voluntary its basically a little course to let you know what you got yourself in. But hey I wouldn't change anything I had an absolute blast. Rangers Lead the Way!!!
