Is there a way to get this software to recognize .wmv files? So far it doesn't do it on my computer. I'm new with this software so I might be missing something basic. I was compiling a pile of video clips with Micro$oft Movie Maker and I wasn't terribly pleased with the final result. The clips were not as good of quality as the original for some reason. Sort of choppy but the originals were nice and smooth. So I decided to use Premiere as I have it at my disposal. I'm hoping that the quality will be much better. But it doesn't seem to be able to view and import .wmv files. Most of the clips I want to use are .wmv files. Is there something that I need to do in order to make them work? Can I convert them to another format. I'm new at this so please help. TIA.

I can help you this afternoon when I get home from work. I don't have Premiere here. But if you still need help around 2:30 EST, I'll see what I can do.

Just as a tip, the newest version of Windows Media Encoder will allow you to create movies based on the way you want to distribute them. I've used it to make some videos for DTM Power and the quality/size ratio is amazing.
