Whilst turning the spanner to tension the tappet, you will hit your head on the bonnett.

Try adjusting them on a 3208 cat or 400 NTC Cummins.



I can do the valves on a VW Bug in about 10 min.

I was going to say the same thing! Very easy on these cars. But no matter what I did it still has the valve train taping noise Oh well, I adjusted them at 110k and now it has 155k so I think it's going to be all right.
