I hope to hell the recent election sends a message to the rest of the world that we the citizens are not happy with the current regime and especially unhappy with it's foreign policy.
The sad part is the amount of time it took for people to get their heads out of their asses. Quite honestly I like the fact we have a dem house and senate and a gop pres, means with any luck nothing "radical" will happen.
**** liebermen, **** kerry and **** mccain (sp?)
i overheard someone saying something about that this weekend, they were hoping with a democratic house, and lame duck pres they wont do any thing...

It's a pretty sad day when the best we can hope for from our government is that they won't **** anything up worse than it already is. But yeah!
they just need to stop for a while

Dems are gonna take our guns. Or at least try to.
If you've been of voting age during any number of administrations you'll quickly see that "hot button issues" lilke abortion, gay marriage, guns, etc... NEVER CHANGE, u change them, they go away and then you have nothing to stump for next election. Even bush with a full rack of party line voters in both the house and the senate didnt manage to get his gay marriage through (yet, we still have a couple months). All he's done is drag us into Vietnam part deux (yea ok I forget what are we stopping the spread of? communism or terrorism I just cant remember what to fear these days) and hitch us with a debt monkey which will more then likely bankrupt a once prosperous empire.
The reality is we need more parties, this two party system SUCKS, they are way to far one way or the other and the only people not represented are the ones in the middle, which is the middle class.

Three parties can split the vote badly, which can really help the incumbent. 55% of people vote AGAINST them, but split their vote between two parties allowing the incumbent to take 45% and win. (Canadian stylez)
Remember, 80% of your country votes for the same party everytime even if they ran a chimp (2000, 2004), a small percentage of people consider and vote based on what they saw on TV. Adding another contending party may do nothing.

or costa rica that has 8 parties in the senate none with a majority they have had to work together and do what the people want rather then what the politicians want.
Yea I agree that a third party could hurt, but we need more then just 3 parties.
