Ok here it is. I just saw 2 fake 2 wannabe and I was wondering about the smooth booty stun guns they use on the cars. Anyone know if they are a reality?

Please dont start talking about the lump of crap they call a movie or all the lame stuff they screwed up in it. This topic is about the electronics knockout they showed only.

Thanks all

50 000volts is what they use to take down a person. I dont know if that exact stun gun would actually take out a car. They would prolly use a magnet instead of a dart, and, it wouldnt have to be a bazooka like in the movie.

I've never heard anything about it being a real device, but it would be possible to make something similar that disrupts electronics. There's no way it'd be practical though.

I have seen something similar. I don't think it's used yet, still in testing. It's some little car looking thing with a long metal antenna, the cop releases it from the front bumper, it speeds up under the car in front, when that metal antenna hits the chassis, it kills the car's ECU.

On a side note, they were also talking about inserting a special chip inside all new cars ecu's. Then the cop can just punch in a code ot something, transmit a signal to the car and shut it down!, Thats some scary **** right there!

seriously... next thing we'll have minority report. but yeah... usually some sort of magnetic current will kill electronics... or a EMP.

ive seen a similar program where police can use (or will be able to use) a large gun almost similar looking to a radar detector where it uses i think it was like technology similar to microwave ovens or some crap to confuse ignition and stall the car. it might have been an emisode of mcguiver not that i think about it

I don't think that Electro Magnetic Pulse would work to well.

It would not surprise me about the ECU thing happening. But we will have no problem. All of our cars are 9 years or older.

I also watched that movie. Hate to go off topic. That movie ******* sucked. It had one FD in it. All rest were civics, and eclipses. I think I saw an S2000.
